New interest group with Dana Cox as leader.
I am starting a new interest group this year called ‘Out and About’. The inspiration for it came when I was visiting Susanne Harmony and she shared information about an interest group that exists in her Grants Pass Branch. Several times a year, they determine a place or event that they would like to attend. For example, several members wanted to see the behind the scenes doings at the Ashland Shakespearean festival. They purchased advanced tickets and the rest is history.

For us in the LA area, I noted that a sewing guild is having its annual yard sale on Sept. 21 in Fountain Valley. Being a quilter and knowing that there are several crafty members in our branch, I thought we might try this as our first Out and About event. I am certainly open for more ideas, suggestions, etc. But let’s give it a try—I am happy to drive so please let me know if you would like to join me on our first adventure. Naturally we will plan to go to lunch. Please give me a call or email me a note to get the final plans.
