Sarah Garrison, the Teen Dating Violence Prevention Specialist for DOVES, has enthusiastically agreed to be the guest speaker at the January meeting. This is such a timely and important topic with issues affecting practically every college or university campus. Her talk will include: 1) a brief overview of the Domestic Violence agencies and services available in the I.E.; 2) issues and stats etc. around Teen Dating Violence; 3) what she is doing specifically to meet the challenge in the mountain communities; and 4) what organizations like ours can do to help.
Kathy Harper from the Big Bear Valley AAUW Branch has been instrumental in securing this speaker.
A brief meeting and discussion of branch issues including Tech Trek will follow. Coffee, tea and refreshments will be provided.
