Don’t miss this Branch Meeting on Thursday, November 29th. See details below. Contact us for more information and to let us know you may be coming.
“Million Kids” is a local non-profit organization that has developed a program called “The Love Trap” that is designed to teach how teens are identified by predators as possible prey and the methods predators use to lure in vulnerable kids.
It is important that teens, parents and grandparents understand how human trafficking happens in our communities and how to protect kids from being trafficked. Education is the key to protection. For teenagers, one bad decision can change a lifetime. “The Love Trap” teaches young people that strong self-worth comes through quality decisions.
“Million Kids” has worked with human trafficking for many years in the United States, Cambodia, and South East Asia. It serves on the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Anti Human Trafficking Task Force (RCAHT).
The group invites volunteers and supporters to be trained as presenters to take this message to every young person and parent in America. “The Love Trap” program is also available on an appointment basis for civic leaders, pastors and clergy, government employees, corporations and professional and civic organizations.
The training for the public is Thursday, November 29th at 7 p.m. at the new Diamond Bar City Hall, Windmill Room, 21810 Copley Drive, Diamond Bar, CA. Opal Singleton will be the presenter. Opal was recently awarded the “Ruby Award” by the Riverside Soroptomist Club for her work in Human Trafficking.
This presentation is free to the public. It is being co-hosted by the Diamond Bar Library’s, Teen Services and the Diamond Bar/Walnut AAUW. For more information go to: Info@MillionKids.org, or contact Opal Singleton at Osingle405@aol.com. 951-323-0298.
